Three armed robbers robbed and shot one of their victims at MTN taxi rank around 7.30pm recently.
It is alleged that three suspects robbed a 24-year-old man together with his three brothers at the MTN Taxi Rank in the inner-city, this incident happened on the 14th of November.
In a statement issued by the Johannesburg Central SAPS, Captain Xoli Mbele revealed that the victims were attacked by unknown assailants while closing shop for the day. In a quest to make fast and easy money from other men’s sweat, three gun wielding criminals approached the brothers and pointed firearms at them, demanding money and cellphones.
It is further alleged that the robbers also took a leather jacket belonging to one of the victims, then ordered their victims to run away. As they ran one shot was fired, hitting one of the men in the upper body. An ambulance managed to take the wounded man to hospital.
According to Captain Mbele, the robbers were later on spotted by one of the victims who alerted the police. “When they saw a police vehicle they started to run away.
